We are very excited to announce the Paul Dempsey Shotgun Karaoke Solo Tour & EP for October 2013. As you may know, on the recent Something for Kate tour, frontman Paul Dempsey began filming a different cover version backstage every night at each venue, posting them online after each show. Paul recently spent some time in the studio recording a selection of these covers for release as the Shotgun Karaoke EP and has great pleasure in announcing the accompanying national solo tour of the same name kicking off on Saturday October 5th.

Something for Kate's Star-Crossed Cities Tour is now well underway with the band having played Ferntree Gully Hotel & Pier Live Frankston, Victoria & Coolangatta, Eumundi & Brisbane. Incredibly, after receiving a diagnosis of pneumonia on the morning of the Frankston show, Paul made a rapid recovery and was able to perform in full force. In 1998 after the first Something for Kate album was released Paul Dempsey recorded what would technically be his first solo album. Released under the name 'Scared of Horses' and titled An Empty Flight it is a beautiful collection of music written & played by Dempsey featuring the lyrical and vocal talents of Glenn RIchards (Augie March), Jamie Hutchings (Bluebottle Kiss), Heinz Reigler (Not From There), Andrea Prudente (Arrosa), Dik (S:Bahn), Stephanie Ashworth (Sandpit, Something for Kate) and Laura Macfarlane (Ninety-nine).
After selling out its initial pressing in a flash, it has been near impossible to find ever since and subsequently became a rare and highly collectible item. The album is now available again via iTunes

Paul will join a host of Australian artists in a tribute to one of Australia's most revered songwriters, Paul Kelly.
This year marks Paul Kelly's 30th anniversary as a solo recording artist. Over two nights at The Forum Theatre (Fri 13th and Sat 14th Nov) in Melbourne, Triple J have invited some of the best Australian artists to interpret Paul Kelly's songs. The line up will feature Paul Dempsey,Missy Higgins, John Butler, Katy Steele, Bob Evans, Clare Bowditch plus members of Augie March as the backing band.
